Avon: June 27, 2017 at age 81, peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. She is survived by her children, Cynthia Anderson, James (Tammy) Anderson, Elizabeth Searle; grandchildren, James “Alex” Anderson, Joshua Searle, Nathanael Searle; sisters, Alice Campbell, Mary Campbell (Tim Avirett), Sara (Don) Taylor; sisters in law Marne (Bill) Deverell, Nancy (John) Bower; many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

Predeceased by her husband James “Dick” Anderson, parents Emily Quinn, Richard Campbell and step-mother Martha Campbell Bohlayer.

Barb was a teacher at the Avon Elementary School who retired in 2000. During her time there she directed many school plays. She was an extremely active, 50+ year member of the Avon Central Presbyterian Church. Barb was also a founding member of the Avon Lioness Club, and was heavily involved in Avon 4-H. She was a 30-year volunteer with the Livingston Co. Cooperative Extension, a member of the Avon Garden Club, and was honored as an Avon Citizen of the Year in 2013.

Family and friends are invited to call Sunday 2- 4, 7 - 9 pm at the Stephenson-Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc. 350 Genesee Street, Avon. Monday at 10 AM her Funeral Service will be held at the Central Presbyterian Church, Avon. Interment Avon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Central Presbyterian Church, 133 Genesee Street, Avon, NY 14414 or to Livingston County Hospice Fund, 2 Murray Hill Drive, Mt. Morris, NY 14510.
