Roger G. Morey

AVON - Passed away peacefully December 15, 2020 at home at age 78. He left his loving family, wife, Glenys Sue Hanna Morey and daughters, Wendy M. Burley, Deborah L. Morey; sisters, Janice Morey, Janet (James) Herko, Phyllis Morey, Lori (Ramon) Cruz; grandchildren Joshua Burley (Torrey Bronecki), Victoria (Theo) Camara, Kathi (Justin) Ford, Melanie (Daniel) Olver; great grandchildren, Bryanna Robinson, Seaenna Ford, Hannah Olver, Jake Olver, and one on the way (Ahava Camara); sister-in-law, Mary Morey; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Donna (Paul) Sullivan; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Thomas, Lyman, Larry Morey; son-in-law, Michael Burley; 3 great grandchildren.

Roger worked on the family farm until the early 1970's after which he went to work for JO Cook Oil. He continued working for JO Cook for the next 24 years after which he started working for Townsend Oil. He then worked for Townsend Oil for the next 15 years until his retirement. He loved traveling, playing cards, and bird watching. He loved to eat.

Roger was an Army veteran and served from 1961 to 1963, during which he served 13 months in Korea. He also became a member of the 98 Division US Army Reserve and served for 30 years. He retired as a MSG E8.

Family and friends are invited to call Saturday, December 19, 2020 from 5 - 8 pm at the Stephenson - Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc. 350 Genesee Street, Avon. (Face masks and social distancing will be required and the family asks that there be no embracing during calling hours) Memorial Services and interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
