Sandy, born November 20, 1951, was a lifelong resident of Avon, New York. She attended St. Agnes
Grammar and St. Agnes High School, then attended SUNY Canton and SUNY Geneseo and graduated in 1973 with her degree in teaching. Her life’s work began immediately following as a teacher at St. Agnes Catholic
School in Avon, New York where she was affectionately known as “Miss D”. She taught several different grades throughout her 40 year career at St. Agnes, but for many of those years she taught fourth grade. She retired in June of 2017.

Sandy had a passion for music. Throughout her lifetime she was always involved in music and spent much of her free time performing and singing. As a young adult she began performing with her sister and other friends in a traveling performing group called Stage 3 Productions. Throughout her lifetime, she sang in the St. Agnes Catholic Church choir and folk group and spent many years as the director of the folk group. Later in life she sang in a vocal performing group called Take Note and they performed regularly around the area for events and in local nursing homes and senior centers. Sandy especially wanted to share her love of music with the children of St. Agnes School. For the majority of her time there she produced and directed many musical performances and pageants each year. Most dear to her heart was the annual Christmas pageant.

Sandy most especially cherished spending time with her family. She loved the many trips and special moments shared with her loving sister Sharon, her mom and her many friends.
