Harry Max Haubert

Lima – Passed away on December 17, 2022 at age 89. Survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Ruth Ann (Sierer) Haubert; daughters Zoe Ann Haubert of Rochester NY, and Beth Ann (Tim) Yousey of Kissimmee, FL; sisters, Betty (Leon) Miller of McAlisterville, PA, Julia Bean of Henrietta NY, Bonnie (Ted) Belis of Altoona, PA; grandchildren, Jessica Ann Yousey, Justin Sterling Yousey, Madeline Mary Elizabeth Setter; several nieces and nephews.

Harry was predeceased by his parents, Max and Hazel (Elsasser) Haubert; brothers, Jim, Dale, Robert Haubert.
Harry was the eldest of 7 children, born and raised in Cocolamus, Pa. Harry served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Harry was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 832, he was an operator, welder and mechanic of heavy construction equipment. Harry worked on and help build the Niagara Falls Power Project and the Pure Waters Tunnel Project in Rochester.

Harry was very active in the Lima American Legion, Post 282, and Lima Fire Department for many years.
For many years Harry played Santa Claus for the Lima Fire Department, American Legion and other organizations. He also enjoyed going to dirt track car racing and tractor pulls in his spare time.

Family and friends are invited to call Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 4 – 7 PM at the O’Connell-Dougherty Funeral Home 2041 Lake Ave., Lima where his Funeral Service will be held Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 11 AM. Interment Oak Ridge Cemetery, Lima with military honors. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Lima Fire Department, PO Box 29A, Lima NY 14485 or Lima American Legion, P.O. Box 311, Lima, NY 14485.
