James Work Flick

Avon - A longstanding and active member of the Avon Community, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2022 at age 93. He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Mary B. (Blemel) Flick, children Robert Flick, William (Christina) Flick, Amy (Lynn) Dodge, Mary (Harold) Cole, Michael (Karen) Flick, sister Elanor Reynolds, many adoring grandchildren, great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews as well as numerous extended family members and friends.

He will be remembered and celebrated as a testament to the power of living in love, empathy, kindness, curiosity, wonder, and radiant joy.

Jim was a Veteran US Air Force engineer, graduate of RIT, retiree of The Pfaudler Company, and Elder of the Central Presbyterian Church. He was a passionate train enthusiast, avid reader and spiritual seeker, fixer of all things broken, and most importantly a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, uncle, mentor, colleague, and friend.


Services will be held at the Central Presbyterian Church, 133 Genesee Street in Avon, on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Please join us with happy hearts to honor and commemorate our most beloved friend. Private interment St. Agnes Cemetery, Avon. In lieu of flowers memorials may be to Central Presbyterian Church 133 Genesee Street Avon, NY 14414 or St. Agnes School 96 Prospect Street Avon, NY 14414 in his memory.
