I didn't know Bruce personally or in "real life", I knew him through a website called Terrapin Nation, where I am a member. I rarely post there but I read there daily and I know Bruce was the co-founder of that site, wanting to create a kind space for those of us who shared his love of the Grateful Dead and their music. I always found Bruce's posts to be thoughtful, intelligent, thought-provoking at times, and always respectful of others. I know from that site how much he was loved in real life by the many members there who met in real life and shared the spiit of music and fellowship together many, many times in many locations across this country and even in Mexico. Bruce was one of those people who you meet - whether online or in person - and you think, "wow, that's a helluva decent human being!" It's a testament to his spirit that he will be missed by so many people who never even met him in person. To his famlly, we feel your loss and can only imagine how much more profound it is for you, who knew him so well. Please know that he touched many people during his lifetime and he will live on in spiit at the site he founded.
"River gonna take me, sing me sweet and sleepy,
Sing me sweet and sleepy all the wa back home.
It's a far gon lullaby sung many years ago,
Mama, Mama, many worlds I've come since I first left home.
Going home, going home,
By the waterside I wil rest my bones.
Listen to the river sing sweet songs,
To rock my soul."
